The Original Daiquiri is nothing like the sticky sweet concoction served at swim up bars world wide. In fact, it’s components directly oppose the concept of “sweet;” the recipe  – 1 sour, 2 sweet, 3 strong, 4 weak – intended to create balance.

Little known fact: Most OG Daiquiri renditions are made with a lime, but The Original was concocted with a lemon.

Also, The Original would have used castor sugar or baker’s sugar to balance it. We use simple syrup now because it’s more consistent and controlled.

2 oz Bacardi Rum

.75 oz Fresh Lemon Juice

.75 oz Simple Syrup
